The Unique Closet Program
Through its Unique Closet program, Unique Thrift Store has donated $200,000 in gift certificates to Montgomery County for distribution through County government agencies, nonprofit organizations and area public schools. The program is entering its second year and has helped more than 3,000 needy County residents obtain the clothing and household items they need, free of charge. Unique and its Charity Partners
The Unique Thrift Store is committed to giving back to the community through partnerships with several local charities, including the Vietnam Veterans Association, the Lupus Foundation and the National Children's Center.
The Unique Thrift Store purchases donated goods from nonprofit organizations at competitive prices and then resells the items to the community. As a result of these relationships, the organizations and the community receive significant financial support for important programs and services to aid those in need.
Unique and the area's workforce
The Unique Thrift Store benefits the community by bringing close to 200 well-paying jobs with benefits to the area's workforce. Many Unique Thrift Store associates live near the store and are proud to work within their community.
